My name is Andrew Pickles and I am a Wildlife and Nature Enthusiast. My main subject is Birds and Bird Ringing, but enjoy anything to do with Nature. This blog is to showcase some of the wonderful animals and birds within Southern Africa and especially in my home area of Southern Kwazulu Natal. I am currently working on Barn Swallow migration between my home patch of Umzumbe and Europe, with a possible link to Chernobyl, news of this can be obtained on my website listed under the links.

Bird Ringing - Umzumbe 13.11.2011

A great day of ringing on a day surrounded by terrible weather, however Sunday the wind stayed away as did the rain and cloud cover made for a an extended ringing session.
